Last Saturday the 17th of September the Harden-Murrumburrah Rugby League Football club celebrated the success of their seasons at their presentation night.

A successful season was rewarded with an abundance of awards for the Hawks players at both the club level and the competition level. The presentation of awards started with Joie Whybrow winning the Hawks Coaches Award, Eliza Butt winning the Hawkettes Coaches Award and Kristy Brown winning the WorHawks Coaches Award.

The ‘Snowy Apps Memorial’ Award for the Hawks best defender deservedly went to Hawks workhorse Luke Brown.

The ‘Reg Cullen Senior’ Award for the Hawks senior player of the year went to the shifty fullback, Austin Power, who was fourth in competition try scoring with 11 tries.

The Most Reliable Player In The Finals awards went to Ethan Newham from the Hawks, Kate Menz from the Hawkettes and Mollie Hogan from the WorHawks.

The ‘Mathew Brown Memorial’ award for dedication and commitment went to faithful Hawkettes clubwomen, Emma James.

The ‘Paul Potts Memorial’ Award for Hawks Future and Rising Star in any grade went to Jasmine Chesworth.

The WorHawks Players Player was Ua Ravu, who was also voted best on ground in the WorHawks minor grand final.

The Hawkettes Players Player was Claire Smith, who was the second leading try scorer in the competition with 31 tries.

The Hawks Players Player Award went to Jacob Lucas, who was the competitions tenth leading points scorer with 45 points.

The Most Consistent Awards for each team went to Chloe Wade from the WorHawks, Abbie Grant from the Hawkettes and sharpshooting goalkicker Lane Gaudie from the Hawks.

The John Shea Memorial Best All Rounder Award went to Hawks star Will Manwaring, who had a great season with five tries and a consistent effort in defence.

The ‘Ted Argeart Memorial’ Club Person Of The Year Award went to Andrew McIllhatton and the Special Recognition Award for services to the club went to Dave and Mel Ings.

Best and Fairest for the WorHawks was Hunter Ings who had a great season at fullback, scoring 11 percent of all the WorHawks points this season.

The Best and Fairest for the undefeated Hawkettes was awarded to Georgia Smith, who had a record breaking season with 42 tries. The Best and Fairest was tough Hawks Hooker William Hills, who was a defensive anchor for the Hawks all season.

Overall it was a mighty successful season for the Hawks with the Hawkettes having another undefeated season, the Hawks making the finals and threatening some top sides, the WorHawks winning the minor grand final.

On top of this a number of Hawks players won awards at the Canberra Area Rugby League awards and the club winning the Club Championship.

The Hawks are in a great position as a club and will most certainly be looking to repeat their success once again.
