Since 2010 Bernadette Ryan has been cooking for the children of Bunyip Preschool but on the 9th of April it comes to an end.

Bernadette has travelled from Cootamundra for the past 10 years and will take up a new job closer to home.

Instead of travelling an hour to and from work everyday she will only travel five minutes.

When asked what she would miss the most about working at Bunyip, Bernadette said definitely the kids.

“Seeing them from babies to preschool then off to school will definitely be something I’ll miss.”

One of the highlights of Bernadette’s time at Bunyip is the upgrade of the backyard.

She believes that it was not only a highlight for the children but the centre as a whole.

Bernadette said she will also miss working with the staff.

“We’re a team, even though there are different rooms and different jobs in each we’re still a team.”

Bernadette would like to thank the director, Sarah James, for being there for support and guidance and also the staff both past and present.

Sarah said on behalf of all staff “We would like to thank Bernadette for all her time and effort she has given to Bunyip over the past 10 years and we wish her all the best on her new adventure.”
