Murrumburrah High School will take their 4-1 win against James Fallon Highschool in round four of the CHS knockout and head to Leeton on Monday to take on Narrandera.
If they beat Narrandera they will likely take on Albury High School James Fallon boasted a cohort of 733 players, compared to MHS’ 140. Narrandera has 305 students, however, Murrumburrah High have proven to be giant killers in their efforts thus far and are hoping for a strong performance.
Girls as young as years 7 and 8 will combine with some of our experienced local senior players to put it to Narrandera. Coach Ali Spencer heaped praise on her players in their last match, many of whom had backed up from their weekend sport commitments.
Preparations for this Monday’s game have not been ideal, however it is hoped everything will fall into place. Coach Ali Giles said, “We will have our work cut out for us, we have had the majority of our girls at Outward Bound last week.
This week we had the three Emms girls representing Riverina at Bathurst. They will be back Friday for the game.” Last year MHS was knocked out 4-2 when they were defeated by Murrumbidgee High School. Harden will be looking to the Emms girls to have strong performances with Sam in year 12, Jade year 11 and Brooke year 9.
Hayley Hambrook has stepped up and gone into the goal and Chloe Wade has been strong. Up front Nia Raptis has played beyond her age and “does exceptionally well” according to Giles. If there’s anyone who wants to travel down and support the local side, you can contact the school.
Kick-off is at 11:00am on Monday.
