Betoota’s most famous journos Clancy Overell and Erroll Parker will get a day off today after spending the majority of their lives living in an endless cycle of April fools style stories.

Betoota’s most eligible bachelors will take a break from terrorising Scotty from Marketing. Katter from Crazy town, Barnaby from Bastadry Central and Bridget from Spreadsheet Heaven, to have a counter meal which will consist of a chicken schnitzel with a Hawaiian topping, while jumping from their own brand of beer and that of their idol Bob Hawke, whose Hawke’s Lager has gone on to take over the craft beer market.

Overell told the Times. “We don’t get much time to ourselves. After kicking off with beer and darts for a late brekky start at 10:45am, we normally write for another hour or so before we have a long lunch at the local and knock off about 3. It’s hard work but someone has to do it.”

Parker insisted that he does most of the work and that Overell is just along for the ride. “It was originally my idea, my capital and I set up the website. Clancy was a staffer for John Barilaro for 6 months before deciding it was easier to write jokes about politics than actually be a part of it. I met him up at the Brisbane Truck Show at a gentlemen’s club. He was sitting next to me as a young person was making their way down one of those shiny poles to pay for their tuition because it’s become too expensive under this government to pay for Uni. It was in 2013 and sometimes I wish I hadn’t crossed paths with him.”

The Times wish the boys all the best today. They only get April 1 off and a half day on Melbourne Cup day according to Overell.
