They may be called the Harden Red Devils, but that didn’t stop them from growing angel’s wings half way though their warm up before their major semi final against the Boorowa Goldies on Saturday.

The winner of the match to meet the Coota Tri Colours at Country Club Oval this Saturday, to decide who will be Premiers of the Oilsplus South West Rugby competition.

An ambulance was called to attend to a player from the Young Yabbies ladies’ side, which meant that the first grade fixture had been put back by at least 15 minutes.

Harden continued to go through their paces to keep warm in the chilly conditions.

On arrival the ambulance hit some boggy ground and the wheels began to spin, spraying mud out the back. The Harden squad sprang into action led by Coach Jack O’Connor and pushed the ambulance through the mud until it reached harder and higher ground.

The Yabbies player was the able to be stretchered to the ambulance and taken to hospital.

All reports found that the Yabbies player has recovered and is back at home as of Monday.

The Devils went on to play a very physical game in muddy conditions against a very strong and in form Boorowa side. Harden held the Goldies off to claim the win and the Grand Final berth 32-22.
