Share the Love: that’s exactly what the Binalong community plans to do in response to the bushfire crisis gripping the nation. The small town with the big heart has swung into action to raise funds for those less fortunate than themselves.

Share the Love is the brainchild of an ever-expanding group of Binalongians who have banded together to do what small communities do best: help people out in times of crisis.

Hosted by the Binalong CWA, sponsored by numerous generous businesses and individuals, and supported by the whole community, the Binalong Bushfire Fundraiser is set to rock the Binalong Community Club from 4pm on February 15.

Canberra band Woodface headline the entertainment, and the music, poetry and a huge range of activities for all ages continues well into the night. Jumping castle, mechanical bull and barefoot bowls are just some of the activities on offer to kick your heels up for a good cause. Silent and live auctions give people a chance to open their hearts and wallets. Up for grabs in the major raffle is the coveted prize of seven nights in a two-bedroom waterfront apartment in Mooloolaba.

This isn’t your typical sausage sizzle: patrons are spoilt for choice with roasted and smoked meats, ribs, quality sides and a bar both inside and outside the club. Courtesy bus in operation.

Funds raised will be split between Rural Aid Disaster Relief, Blaze Aid, and Kevin Brown and family.

The cost for Share the Love: Binalong Bushfire Fundraiser is $10 per adult, U18s free.

This promises to be the community event of the year. Don’t miss it!
