The Harden Hawks and the Carrington Hotel will be joining forces in the Hawk’s Centenary year in 2020, after representatives from both organisations met in Neill Street on Monday.

This will be the 3rd time the Hawks have been sponsored by the Carrington, who will be joined by Graymont as joint major sponsors of the maroon and whites.

Carrington owner Trevor Calloway said, “We will be making improvements to the Hotel in the new year and opening it up to accommodate the junior side. The Hawks are a great organisation. This is our 3rd sponsorship and we hope it’s going to be bigger and better this year. We are going to completely redo the flooring and repaint the interior of the Hotel. We have a new beer system which is up and running and it will complement our bistro well. We have an established staff who are very supportive of the Hawks and their club. We are really looking forward to it, we hope they can win all of the grand finals. Wouldn’t that be great in the 100th year.”

Graymont had two representatives on hand for the sponsorship announcement in Geraint Mathias, Director of Operations and Sylvio Livolsi, the Galong Site Manager. Geraint said, “We are looking to support the teams, we are a family based business. We wan’t to be part of the community and help it to grow and work together with the club.”

Graymont took over all of Sibelco’s limestone operations in Australia on August 1. They are a global leader in lime and limestone solutions. Their products are essential in supporting vital industrial processes and agricultural needs. Uses for their products include the purification of air and water, and the production of items essential to a modern economy such as steel, paper, and metals. They are the second largest limestone producer in the world with headquarters in Vancouver Canada. The Galong site employs approximately 35 people and contractors.

Hawks President Jason Pollard said, “It’s great to have them as joint sponsors. We hope to have a great working relationship with both of them. Graymont have taken over out there and the club is excited to have them onboard. The Hawks enjoyed a relationship with Sibelco before and Graymont has now taken that further.”

The Hawks hope to field 4 sides in 2020 including U17s, Worhawks, League Tag and 1st Grade.

A full calendar is expected in 2020 with past players invited back to support the club.

More to come.
