Locally owned gelding Bombdiggity returned to the track in fantastic fashion when he took out the Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1000 metres at Wagga on Monday.

Part owner Nathan Schofield said, “It was good to see him win first up.”

Bombdiggity was ridden by Brodie Loy, with the free flowing action of the horse and a good kick in the straight contributing to the win.

He was spelled for 22 weeks after a 5th placing in Canberra in June.

The Zoustar gelding out of Exciting To Win looks like he has a promising future as he begins his 4th preparation. 1000 metres appears to be his distance with his win and placings coming from the 1000 metre distance.

The syndicate has now collected just over $42,000 from the 7 starts with a good record of 3 wins and a third place.

Nathan said, “We will see how he pulls up and work out where to go with him next. We hope to head back down the Hume for a Tab Highway race on December 14.”
