Matt McLay (left) and Simon Snedden (right) led from the front for the Harden Hawks today. McLay was lucky to stay on the field after an incident with an opposing player, whilst Snedden played his usual straight up and down, hard style of football.

The Harden Hawks will be hosting the George Tooke Grand Final on September 10 at McLean Oval, after they came from behind in today’s clash against the North Canberra Bears.

A large crowd was in attendance to watch the clash which was full of mistakes and lost opportunities from both sides.

The physical encounter left several players on the sidelines, however it was Harden’s Five Eight Matt McLay who proved to be the final difference when he took an intercept near his own try line.

The classy Five Eighth sprinted 80 metres before handing it off to replacement winger Riley Manwaring, who scored under the posts to put the Hawks in front. Manwaring suffered an injury for his troubles, however, his efforts were enough to help get Harden home.
