Danon Peet, who has just turned 6, recently swam 400 metres in the MS 24 hour Mega Swim with his mother Jennifer, who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Danon received the Youth award for raising the highest amount of money for under 16’s, raising $2,500 and swimming 400 metres. This was a rather impressive, considering the lad had only ever swam 25 metres before.
Danon was delighted with his efforts, his trophies and his prizes. Jennifer swam 3 kilometres or 60 laps, and raised over $300 to take their final total to nearly $3,000.
“We could not have done this without the help and support of so many wonderful friends and family,” said Jennifer. “Thank you for your sponsorship, moral support and help. The MS Society, Danon and I are very grateful. Thank you to the people who donated to Danon’s tins as well as on line. A special thanks to the Terracotta, Panthers, IGA, Harden Tyre Service, and the people of Harden Murrumburrah.”
