On the 16th of July 1914, French aviator, Maurice Guillaux, made the first Australian airmail flight in his Bleriot XI monoplane, it was also the longest airmail flight made in the world at that time.
The route followed the existing railway line from Melbourne to Sydney stopping at suitable towns along the way, Harden being one of them.
Harden will celebrate this weekend with a series of events organised by the Harden-Murrumburrah Historical Society Inc.
Centenary Re-enactment Weekend

Three (3) aircraft from the Canberra Aero Club Formation group and Camera Plane will arrive at Harden Racecourse.
Mechanics Institute, 8pm
‘Those men in their Flying Machines’ and other historical footage.
Model of the original Bleriot plane by Colin Southwell on display also.
Tickets $5.

Historic aircraft including: Cessna, Jabiru and Avro Cadet.
