The Jugiong Polocrosse Club played host to teams from the region including Albury Tumut and Wagga on Saturday and Sunday in some very muddy conditions.

The team from the ‘Gong’ were way too classy for the Wagga outfit in the final, scoring a convincing win of 14-4.

Ben Manwaring won best male player and best horse rider over the weekend. Will, Ben and Pat will now head to Darwin to represent NSW.

It easy to see why the much larger area of Wagga was ‘towelled’ up by the Jugiong side with 3 of their 6 players being State reps.

Jugiong also claimed a win in D grade with a scoreline of 8 points to 6.

The conditions meant that many horse floats and vehicles had to be pulled out by tractor but this did not dampen the skill level on the field.

Jugiong player Charlie Hufton said that 110 meals were served on Saturday night and the disco attracted a large crowd. He said the committee would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped out on the day.

Unfortunately, a number of generators were stolen on Saturday night which was dissapointing. If anyone has information on this matter could they please contact the local police.

The Harden Club will host their event on June 28 and 29, next weekend.
