Max O’Connor son of Paul and Trisha O’Connor, shaved his head on Sunday to mark the one year anniversary of Jonte Pobjie’s passing.

He set up a fund raising page with money going to John Hunter Children’s Hospital who looked after Jonte, to enable them to purchase specialised Syringe Drivers for their patients.

These drivers were used to administer the cocktail of drugs that Jonte required during his treatment & pain relief whilst battling his illness. They are worth $2500 each and Max was hoping to raise enough to purchase one.

In total they raised $6025 which means they can now purchase two. When Jonte was sick he required three drivers. They will now be known as the “Jonte Driver”.

Max also donated his hair so it can be made into a wig for cancer patients. He said that he wanted to thank everyone who donated to the fund.

He said “The $6025 raised is testimony to Jonte and the impact he had on so many lives even a year on. I miss you everyday Big Fella, Max”.
