Murrumburrah was awash with vehicles and the twin towns were buzzing with visitors recently when the Maker’s Markets were held at the Old Court House. Visitors came from Cootamundra, Jugiong, Boorowa and Young along with many from Yass and Canberra. Visitors took the opportunity to patronise local businesses in both Harden and Murrumburrah.

Thirty-eight stallholders, with some selling out of their main lines quite quickly, were satisfied with the two day event. Congratulations to Sam Longmore for her efforts in pulling the markets together and making it such a great event. Sam wished to thank the Harden Murrumburrah Arts Council for their support in the preparation of the Old Court House.

It is hoped that the stall holders will find their way back to Harden Murrumburrah for future events. The idea of the market was to bring like-minded people together for a weekend of exhibiting, idea swapping and the aim was to invite our neighbouring communities to support the talent we have in this area. The market definitely saw the cafes around Murrumburrah full of coffee drinkers.

The markets wanted to help support all local eateries and stores within Murrumurrah. With the diverse range of talents from makers and creators in the local region, Sam hopes that the next market day before christmas will be as successful as this one has been, making the next one a one day event, indoor and outdoor with more family fun things to do for the kids.
