The Harden Tennis Courts certainly need a long term decision regarding the large east to west crack which cuts across all 4 courts to be made soon. The crack has continued to appear and re appear for years now and continues to be a hazard for school students, Tuesday tennis and competition tennis in the twin towns. Work continues to be done on the large crack to grind down the high edges and smooth the finish off, however, the ball can still take on some interesting bounces if it is unlucky enough to land on the anomaly.
Tennis Club Committee member Michelle Kennett continues to source funding for the repairs to be properly carried out, however, it is proving to be a hard task to achieve. The ladies who play on Tuesday continue to do their best and are aware of the crack but don’t try and let it put them off their game. With over $1 million on offer to Harden Sporting fields in the Stronger Regions grants it is hoped that Council will allocate some funding to fixing up the courts as soon as possible. It would be very unfortunate if a player was to be injured playing the game they love.
