A number of members of the twin town community have contacted the paper with reports that The National Australia Bank in Harden will close on June 2.

Customers say they have been notified via letters and or phone calls made by the bank.

They began receiving letters and phone calls from the bank yesterday, advising them of the bank’s position.

Some customers may not yet be aware of the impending closure.

The bank previously operated 5 days a week, however, over the last couple of years they have reduced operating hours to 3 days a week.

They are currently open Monday, Thursday and Friday, however, are closed for lunch.

The bank is known for having a large number of account holders. The former Harden Shire Council used the NAB for much of its banking business.  Customers will now have the option to bank locally with either

Bendigo Bank or the Commonwealth Bank or take their banking to Cootamundra or Young.

The Twin Town Times contacted NAB representatives from outside of the local area for comment, however, they were unable to make comment at the current time.

More news to come.
