The long awaited appointment of members of the Sibelco Voluntary Planning Agreement is one step closer, with Hilltops Council calling for nominations. Membership of the Steering Committee during the period of Council Administration will consist of the following make up; The Administrator (or delegate), 1 Council Staff Member, 1 Sibelco Representative and 2 Community Members. Recently, a new Hilltops Council Section 355 Committee Standard Constitution and Instrument of Delegation was drafted, endorsed and adopted by Hilltops Council. It outlines the objectives, functions, powers, and duties of Section 355 Committees. It is proposed that a call for expressions of interest for membership to the committee be advertised for a twenty-one (21) day period. After submissions are received a further report to Council will be prepared to determine membership of the committee. Advertisments will be displayed by Hilltops Council if and when the decision is approved at Wednesdays Council meeting. The meeting will be the last time Administrator Tuckerman will preside over Council business for the 2016 year.
