Harden Picnic Race Club President Nathan Schofield congratulates Judy Stewart after she received Life Membership of the Club.
Judy Stewart was both shocked, yet honoured to have been presented with life membership at the Harden Picnic Races on Saturday. She said that over her time with the committee she had met lots of interesting racegoers and had enjoyed working with the wonderful hardworking people who are responsible for giving the district the now renowned race meeting. She said, “This year, it was a great day. We were very fortunate to have had good weather and the crowds came. We had more bookies, food stalls (which were kept extremely busy) and the crowd loved Chalkie White and were observed dancing most of the afternoon to his music.” Judy went on to say that they had booked Chalkie for next year’s event. She says she will continue to be involved as a committee member for the Picnics. Judy has lived in the district for over 42 years and she and her husband Bob were responsible for starting the horse trials around thirty years ago. She does casual teaching at various schools in the district. Well done Judy.
