Kerry Menz is part of a new look Murrumbidgee Health team.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is pleased to announce the appointment of staff to new nursing management positions. Joanne Garlick has been appointed Young Cluster Manager and will have responsibility for Young, Boorowa and Harden Health Services. The Facility Managers are: Boorowa Health Service – Cecelia Walsh, Murrumburrah Harden Health Service – Kerry Menz, Young Health Service – Wendy Dewar. The appointments follow the implementation of a new MLHD management structure for small rural hospitals.
Regional General Manager Rosemary Garthwaite said the new structure is aimed at improving the coordination of patient care within the Cluster and allowing frontline nurses to spend more time on patient care and less on administrative tasks. “While every site will retain its autonomy, there will be opportunities to share resources and the implementation of new models of care, with the Cluster providing specialised support to its sites,” Ms Garthwaite said. “The new structure means we can deliver sustainable health services to our rural communities focused on improving outcomes for patients. I congratulate these managers on their new appointments,” she said.
The Local Health Advisory Committees (LHAC) at each site welcome the progression of these senior management positions and working with the managers to progress local initiatives and projects to foster a positive patient-centred care approach in all services provided. Murrumburrah Harden LHAC Chair John Ford and Boorowa LHAC Chair Phil Armitage congratulated the staff on their new appointments. Mr Armitage and Mr Ford both acknowledged the support and commitment of Kerry Lindeman who has worked at Boorowa Health Service for many years and was responsible for both Murrumburrah Harden and Boorowa sites since 2000.
“Kerry has worked with her staff and the community to maintain and promote local services and the wellbeing of our community during her tenure. We wish her the very best as she starts her new role as Cootamundra Cluster Manager. “We also look forward to forging new relationships with Kerry Menz and Cecelia Walsh to meet the needs of each community,” they said.
