Jeff Cornford brought a group from Temora Probus on a magical mystery tour of Harden Murrumburrah on Tuesday of this week.
Keeping his venues a well guarded secret, the group were treated to morning tea at the Barnes Emporium and Café before exploring the Gold Trails Museum.
The large white bus of visitors was observed taking a look at our very attractive Neill Street, before winding its way out to Brian Dunn’s Light Horse Museum where Brian spent considerable time explaining the artefacts. Brian also played a CD entitled “the Slouch Hat” which was set to an orchestral version of the ‘Wind beneath my Wings’.
Margaret and Frank Thornhill and friends, in their period costumes, circulated amongst the group in Judy and Brian’s very extensive garden.
The group then went on to Lunch at the Light Horse Hotel before a viewing of Carl Valerius ‘s “Bill the Bastard”.
A spokesman for the group said that they hadn’t realized just how much the twin towns had to offer and how attractive the town and countryside was. The group returned to Temora after a relatively busy day.
Incidentally, Goulburn Historical Society have also visited the Murrumburrah Museum on Wednesday of this week as part of a trip to Temora.
It appears that more people than we thought have found our little neck of the woods and decided to visit for themselves.
