Back where it all started at Robert’s Park, Harden man Tyler Allen has attracted the attention of the Dunbar Rovers FC and will be trialling for them soon.
18 year old Tyler Allen has attracted the attention of the Dunbar Rovers FC for the second year in a row. This year he has decided to take up the offer and trial with the Sydney club. Allen has played for the Wagga Wanderers over the last two seasons and was scouted from a game he played for Murrumburrah High School. It is easy to see why he was scouted. If you have ever seen Tyler kick a soccer ball or a football with his left boot you will know why. He is a natural, with perfect timing and has been working hard on bringing his right foot kicking in to line with his left foot. Tyler has played soccer since he was 4 years of age and has played a couple of seasons of ‘footy’ during that time. He said “I played a couple of seasons but soccer is for me.”
Tyler played with Clancy Potts, Sam Whitehead, Jordan Menz and Chirs Fredericks just to name a few. The latter 2 will be lining up for the Hawks Youth League side on Saturday in their Grand Final. Tyler said endurance and staying fit are a big part of soccer. In between travelling to Wagga to train he currently works at St Lawrence Retirement Village in the kitchen. Tyler and many of his friends are now 18 and the temptation of heading out on the drink is there for them to investigate. He said “I’m happy to drive most of the time that way I stay off the drink and keep my fitness up.” Not only is Tyler serious about his soccer he also helps get his friends home safely on many occasions. Tyler would like to thank his parents Narelle and Danny for all their help over the years and the Wanderers manager, Martin Loy. He has aspirations to play in the A league one day and his trial with Dunbar in November is a step closer to that dream.
