Maisie with 6 year old Great granddaughter Hannah Gunder who shares the same birth date.

On Saturday 21st May Maisie Watkins formally of 112 Binalong Street Murrumburrah  celebrated her 100th birthday at William Beach Nursing Home Wollongong. Son Lindsay & his wife Heather who live in Wollongong arranged the beautiful day. Son Colin & wife Doreen were down from Darwin. Four of the five grand Children, Penny Noble, Darwin, Leah Gunder, Rockhampton, Rachael Mellor & Danny Watkins, Wollongong, were there with their families. Andrew Watkins from Darwin & wife Melinda & girls Ebony & Courtney were unable to attend as Andrew was in Adelaide Flinders hospital after an operation to remove a brain tumour. Five of the seven great grandchildren, Danny & Lauren’s Jacob & Samual, Leah & Darren’s Chloe, Hannah, & Sophia were there. Six year old Hannah shared the same birth date as Maisie & was very happy to be with her great grandmother to share the celebrations. Sophia was due the day before Maisie’s birthday but came 6 weeks early so there is 100 years between them. Maisie who is partially blind but could see all her family close up is in good health, husband Ray is in the same nursing home with her & was thrilled to have all the family around even though he is quite deft & frail.
