Local man Scott Collins isn’t giving up the amalgamation fight anytime soon. He has put his money where his mouth is and purchased a canvass banner which he has since used on the side of his truck. The banner depicts Mike Baird and Paul Toole and accompanies the statements-”Don’t Forgive Dont Forget.” He staged a silent protest on Friday at the Harden Country Club to let Michael McCormack the Federal Member for the Seat of Riverina, know exactly what he thinks. McCormack attended the Hilltops Truck Forum the same day. Many residents of the former Harden Shire are still enraged at the process and the decision, whilst others have decided to accept the outcome. If the legal challenges entered into by other Councils, currently before The Land and Environment Court are upheld, it may shine a State wide focus on the forced merger process and the outcomes and may result in reversals of the forced mergers.
