Tyson Astill carries three Yass Magpies over the line for a try at McLean Oval in 2014.
Former Harden Hawk Tyson Astill will be returning to the nest for the 2016 season.
The 25 year old can’t wait to play with ‘the boys’ after a season at Scholars in the Group 8 competition in Canberra in 2015.
“I just want to play with my mates this year and I have a lot on, so playing for the Hawks is a good fit”
Tyson works in Civil Construction and will be building a home this year for him and his partner Illecia in Canberra.
Tyson has played all of his senior Rugby League with the Hawks except for last season and will be a welcome edition to the Hawk’s pack.
He can play Front Row or Second Row and is looking forward to running out in the maroon and white. He has plenty of experience for his age and played in the 2009 Hawks Grand Final win over Bungendore.
“Most of my mates play for the Hawks and I’m looking forward to playing with them again and catching up after the games.”
Hawks coach Mick Quinn said, ” He nearly came back last year but we were happy he had a crack at first grade in Canberra. We are pretty happy now to have him back again this year and he will add some extra muscle to the pack.”
The Hawks first grade side will hold their first trial match on Saturday March 19 against Grenfell with the ladies league tag side holding their second trial at the same venue. The Youth League side and the Ladies league Tag will hold their first trial at Robert’s Park on Saturday March 12 at 1pm for the ladies and 2pm for the gents.
