Harden Murrumburrians of the Twin Towns will be converging on Newson Park this morning to celebrate Australia Day.

The barbeques have been fired up and you can smell the onion floating around the park.

If your in the Harden area get up to Newson Park and meet with your mates, friends, neighbours and community.

Australia Day Ambassador Warren Potent will be on hand and will present all of the local awards.

A hot topic of discussion will be the forced amalgamation by the State Government of Harden with Young and Boorowa.

Tim Doolan Oval: Taken this morning on Australia Day, will be the site of the Harden v Murrumburrah cricket match.

The field could be the best it has looked. Paul ‘Wings’ McCarthy will be umpiring and will give his verdict later today.

Harden will play Murrumburrah at Midday for the Black Stump. The most prestigious trophy to grace Tim Doolan Oval. It will be played in great spirit in a 30/30 format with bowlers coming off a short run up with ‘Wings’ bowling a couple of overs. Bragging rights for the next 12 months are on the line.
