India’s batting collapse at Manuka Oval on Tuesday night showed that miracles in sport do happen, because it will take one for Harden to avoid the wooden spoon in the last round of the Shine Shield at Binalong next Saturday evening, January 30th.
Last Wednesday night saw swimmers compete at Yass in Round 3 of the event, with Yass’ home pool advantage translating to huge leap in points for the town.
Binalong leads the competition on 1,266 points, with Yass only 66 points behind after adding 570 to its tally. Jugiong is in third place by only 20 points on 1,180, however Harden is far behind the rest of the towns on 881.
In the relay section, Jugiong is still well out in front on 154, with Binalong coming in second on 132. Yass is only 10 points behind, but Harden is far from the pack with 81 points.
50th anniversary celebrations for the Shine Shield at Binalong will commence at 3:00pm on Saturday 30 January, and will include a jumping castle, glitter tattoos, balloon art, and the cutting of a commemorative cake.
The competition proper will follow the celebrations at 5:00pm.
