Andrew Davis of Demondrille Merino Stud shows visitors on Tuesday from Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) Emily King, Mark Scott, John Nash, Natasha Hall, and Angi Domsitz from the United States, some of the finest wool that the stud produces. The Stud is holding a Field Day on Friday.
Demondrille Merino Stud will be holding its Field Day this Friday, which will showcase the current activities of the highly successful stud.
The Field Day begins at 9:30am and finishes 4:00pm, and will kick off a busy 2016 for the Davis family behind the business.
Demondrille Merino rams will feature at the Great Southern Supreme Merino Ram Show at EPIC in Canberra on Monday, followed by another sale in Armidale in the first week of February, and then Mudgee on February 8.
According to Stud Principal, Andrew Davis, Demondrille has had considerable success at such sales in the past. “We always go pretty well. We usually sell most of our rams at these sales,” said Andrew.
“We have introduced new blood over the last 4 or 5 years, and the results are starting to show. Our sheep are getting bigger and woollier.”
At the Mudgee Merino Show last year, the stud took out top honours in the Supreme Exhibit, Superfine Ram, Fine Wool Ram and the Pen of 3 Sale Ram categories.
