Scores Hotting Up at the Golf Club

Whilst we are in a relatively quiet period for golf due to the hot weather, the hardy crew vying for the Summer Championships are still toiling away.  The scores are just mind blowingly hot also.

On a back 9 countback two of our golfers could only just be separated for the day’s event with a pair of 43 points (7 better than handicap) being shot.  These two were Kevin Hoppe and Bernie Parker.  Kevin is ever consistent and thereabouts most weeks whilst Bernie wrote 2015 off to getting his eyewear sorted.  Obviously that issue is now fixed.

Kevin ended up the eventual winner with Bernie a split whisker behind him.  Balls went back to only 42 points and a pair of consistent and perennial performers were nipping at the leaders heals only one shot back.  These 42 points were 6 better than handicap and so proved what a tough day on the links it was.  All of these fine scores is making the overall Summer Championships a wide open event at this stage.  I remember it came down to the final weeks play last year.

Nearest to the Pin on the Bendigo Bank 10th went to Darrell Cassidy at 3.45metres.
