Skatepark Receives Final Approval at December Meeting
The Harden Skate Park Committee has approved a designer for the Harden Skate Park with construction set for 2016.
The matter was raised in the confidential section of the meeting where it was resolved for the project to receive full funding and for a skate park construction company to be appointed.
Due to commercial agreements and confidentiality surrounding the funding we cannot yet tell you who has been appointed until the company signs contracts with Harden Shire Council.
The Skate Park has taken just over 3 years to transform from an idea to appointing a construction company. During this time the committee has fundraised, applied for grants, engaged a designer and the community through public meetings and decided on a site.
The Park will be built on the right hand side of Newson Park near the barbeque area. Some trees will need to be removed which either are unsound or whose root structure may be compromised by the construction area. The concept plans on the left detail some of the features to be housed in the park including bowls, seating and spines.
