Chloe and Jock Ward have been rewarded for their efforts at Yanco Agricultural College in 2015.

Sibings Jock & Chloe Ward took home a swag of honours from Yanco Agricultural High School’s presentation night at the Roxy Theatre in Leeton last Friday, December 11. The children of Chris & Nicole Ward, Jock & Chloe both won the Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards respectively. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Jock’s sporting awards included the Best Male Athlete, Senior Ironman, Senior Boys Swimming Champion, 18 Years Boys Athletics Champion and 18 Years Boys Cross Country. He also won the Warren Weir Perpetual Trophy for outstanding commitment to school sport, and has competed in the New South Wales Combined High Schools Swimming and Cross Country two years running. He has also played in the Riverina Open Touch Football Team. His awards were not limited to the sporting arena. Jock was the recipient of Vice Captain’s Prize, and was also awarded R.T.W. Jane Prize for Effort in Agriculture.

His sister Chloe was named the Best Female Athlete, 16 Years Girls Swimming Champion, 16 Years Girls Athletics Champion, 16 Years Girls Cross Country Champion, and Year 10 Gate Run Champion. She also won the Gill Cup for scoring the most number of House points, competed in the New South Wales Combined High Schools Swimming and Cross Country. Jock & Chloe are both former students of Trinity Catholic Primary School and Murrumburrah High School, and have enjoyed their time at Yanco. “I had a good Agriculture teacher who has changed my views on tertiary education,” said Jock. He has applied to study Agricultural Science, Graphic Design and Sports Science, and plans to take a year off and work at a summer camp in the United States. In the meantime, he can be seen playing in the Light Horse Touch Football team on a Thursday nights. Chloe, meanwhile, has two more years at school and has a keen interest in Agriculture and horses in the academic sphere. When it comes to sport, it’s a three way tie between League Tag, Basketball and Running.
