Clancy Potts has received an ATAR of 95.1 in his High School Certificate. He is the son of Kellie and Mark Potts and has just completed year 12 at Hennessy Catholic College in Young. He will be studying Arts/Law at Macquarie University in 2016.

Harden lad and former Hennessy Catholic College student, Clancy Potts has blitzed the Higher School Certificate (HSC) exams, making it onto the Merit List for his efforts after results were released on Wednesday December 16.

The son of Mark & Kellie Potts, he achieved three Band 6s (90% and above), one E4 and two Band 5s (80% and above), with an ATAR score of 95.1.

“It’s good to know the hard work paid off,” he said.

Clancy, who also attended Trinity Catholic Primary School, adopted a strategy of continuity and consistency, trying as best he could to keep to a school timetable in the period leading up to the exams. “It enabled me to focus on all my subjects, rather than focusing primarily on my favourite ones,” he said.

His favourite subject was Extension History, undertaking a piece of original research on Richard III, the last Plantagenet King of England. He credits his teacher for that subject, Sharon Hibbert, and his Year Coordinator Christine O’Dell as being highly influential during his studies.

His friends and family, who include his siblings Paige, Jonah, Lilly, Gypsy and Curtis, are doubtlessly proud of Clancy’s achievements. He will continue working at Harden IGA until he begins a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University in February.

Congratulations Clancy, and well done to all of the students of the Harden Shire who received their HSC results this week.
