Goldenfields Water County Council is the subject of yet another bullying allegation, with an employee allegedly being given an ultimatum to move from Cootamundra to Temora or lose his job. The case went before the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission at Temora Courthouse on November 4, with the judgement of the Commission to be announced in the coming months.
The United Services Union (USU) took the step to launch legal action after attempts at mediating between the employee and Goldenfields fell through. “We offered Goldenfields Water a range of alternative solutions, such as the worker using his company vehicle to commute to and from the Temora Office, but they were rejected,” said USU organizer, Rudi Oppitz.
“After months of trying to hold meaningful discussions with Goldenfields Water general manager Andrew Grant, without success, we had no choice but to take the matter to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission.” Another case involving allegations of bullying by General Manager Andrew Grant will go before the Commission later this month. Goldenfields Water County Council were contacted for comment, however none was received prior to publishing.
