Murrumburrah High School will be the place to be on November 4th when the school will host a ‘Paddock to Plate Day.’ District schools from K-6 will be invited to learn how food and fibre is grown and processed. Displays and demonstrations will occur. The children will be able to observe ice cream, cheese, bread and sausages being made. They will also get to consume the foodstuffs. Jan Young, teacher of Agriculture at MHS said there is great excitement about the day. She said, “Too many children just think that food magically appears on supermarket shelves and we want to educate them about where it all comes from.” Buses will drop students off at MHS and pick them up in the afternoon, as the day will commence at 9am and continue through until 3.20pm. Parents are very welcome to attend.
