Chris Rawlinson will claim his third Premiership in a row in two different competitions, if he can guide the Binalong Brahmans to victory at Cranfield Oval in Young on Sunday. Rawlinson is a former Canberra Raiders Junior who has Captain Coached the Brahmans for the last 3 years. He will no doubt be at his competitive best against Trundle at 2pm.

Chris Rawlinson will line up as Captain Coach of the Binalong Brahmans on Sunday for the chance to claim his 3rd succesive Premiership. Chris hadn’t coached a side before coming to the Brahmans in 2013 and admitted he wasn’t a big talker however his communication skills quickly improved and he has proven himself to be a leader of men. Chris spent time with the Canberra Raiders U18 side and the career footballer and talented cricketer is excited at the prospect of the chance to win his 3rd Grand Final in a row.

“The first 2 Grand Finals were great and mean a lot but if we can pull it off on Sunday it will mean so much more. We lost 60 or 70 percent of our squad from last year and we had to rebuild the team whilst joining a new competition.” Chris said that it is the town, the club and his team mates that drive him.

“The people that I have met in Binalong make me feel so welcome, we have a tight knit playing group and it’s all about playing with your mates.” Chris is known for his competitive nature on the field and said,

“Everything I do on the field I try to win for my team mates. I am very competitive, but off the field I am pretty laid back.”

The Half-Back is hoping that the ladies side can get home with a win also.

“The Jersey Girls side have had a great year after changing from Touch Football to League Tag, and the Youth Side were very unlucky not to make the Grand Final also.”

Travel has been a bit of an issue for the club with long distances covered getting to matches, however the diversity of teams and the new towns the players have seen has made the year interesting. The Brahmans club is hoping that supporters from all over Binalong Yass and Harden will make the trip to Cranfield Oval in Young this Sunday to cheer on both sides.
