17 year old Tyler Allen is showing the big boys he can more than match it with them even when he is injured. Tyler has been playing with the Wagga Wanderers in 2015 after he was picked up by the club after trialling for the Riverina School side. Tyler plays predominately in the U20s however a nasty cork in his right thigh and knee area cut his day short, or so he thought. The first grade side called upon Tyler as a substitute for their side regardless of his injury. He came on to the field and scored the side’s only goal in their 4-1 loss to the Dunbar Rovers from Sydney. Tyler ‘s preferred side is his left foot and describes his right foot as average however If anyone has seen Tyler kick a soccer ball with his left foot they may see why he thinks this. He strikes the ball with such deft timing off the left boot. The year 12 student is capable at several sports including Soccer, Touch Footy, League, Union and Athletics and in particular Cross Country. Tyler hopes to stay in the area next year and find work so that he can continue to play for The Wanderers. The next match for The Wanderers is in Wagga at Gissing Oval. Tyler is unsure if he will be playing u20s or both this weekend. However the spotlight has gone on him after last week’s efforts Tyler travels to Wagga twice a week for training with either his mum Narelle or father Danny. He said “ I’m handling the 2 hour sessions well but the 300 crunches in the warm down aren’t much fun.” Tyler is a Harden Soccer Club success story. he began in the U’5s and has missed just one year since. He plays in the Centre Attacking Midfield position where he makes good use of his pace. Tyler is now regraded as one the fastest young men in town beating all comers at the recent Touch Football Sprint Challenge. He said “Im having fun at the moment and training hard and will see where it takes me.”
