Former Harden Hawk, Tyson Astill, has become a Scholar. Tyson has joined the Belconnen United Scholars rugby league team for the 2015 season in the Raiders Cup, also which includes the Queanbeyan Blues, Queanbeyan Kangaroos, Goulburn Workers Bulldogs, West Belconnen Warriors, Gungahlin Bulls, Woden Valley Rams and the Tuggeranong Bushrangers.
Tyson had been apart of the Hawks from 2008 to 2014 and played in Grand Finals in 2009, 2010, 2013 and 2014. Always in the starting side Tyson played front row or second row when needed, and his physicality in the contest was renowned.
Tyson currently works in civil construction in Canberra, and has made the move to the Scholars after playing in the Hawks 34-4 loss to the Binalong Brahmans.
Tyson played in the Country Group 9 under 18s side that played the Canberra Raiders under 18s. Tyson will join the Forward pack of the Belconnen United Scholars Rugby League Club in a trial match against Wagga on the 14th of March.
