The Huskisson 2015 Triathlon event took place over the weekend, with participants from Harden-Murrumburrah taking part in the gruelling event. Kirsty Kemp, Fran Flanery, Judy Pirie, Adam Wade and Hugh Flanery made the trek to participate, as did 4,500 others from around the country and overseas.
Kirsty, Fran & Judy participated in the women’s triathlon event on Saturday in a relay format. Kirsty did the 5km running leg, Fran rode the 20km cycling leg, and Judy Pirie swam the 750m swimming leg.
Although they didn’t place, the ladies thoroughly enjoyed the event. “It was just about doing it and competing,” said Judy Pirie. “We are all pretty happy that we did it.”
Adam Wade and Hugh Flanery competed in the Long Course event on Sunday in nearly 100% humidity. The event consisted of a 2km swim, an 83 km bike ride and a 20km run. The lads both completed the course, and were highly pleased with their cycling legs.
