The pool at Murrumburrah High School’s 2015 Swimming Carnival was set alight last week, with brothers Ryan & James Daley breaking 13 records between them.
Ryan broke the under 15s age group records for the 100 metres freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. He also broke the 50 metres breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle and butterfly records.
James, Ryan’s younger brother, broke the records for the under 13s age group 100 metres butterfly and backstroke. He also broke the 50 metres butterfly, backstroke, and breaststroke records. Most of these records had previously been set by his older brother Ryan.
In addition, the brothers also won their 200 metres events. Both James and Ryan have been swimming since the age of 6, and have been training with the Harden Swimming Club under coaches Sarah Bunt, Karen Glover and Bob Guthridge.
The brothers also turned out to seal victory for Harden in the Shine Shield. Both Ryan and James will compete in the District Swimming meet in the coming week.
