2014 has been a busy year for newly established business Jackson’s Bakery and Cafe. Trent, Nicole and staff have been providing a great service to the residents of Harden-Murrumburrah as well as the many travellers that pass through the township on the Burley Griffin way each day.
Trent and Nicole managed to find time to enter the ‘Australia’s Best Pie Competition’ which was judged in Sydney and found instant success. The Bakery received a Silver Award in the Best Gourmet Pie section with their Lamb and Rosemary entry and they also picked up a Silver Award in the Best Poultry Pie section with their Chicken and Mushroom pie. There was over 1200 pies entered from Bakeries all over Australia.
Apart from making excellent tasting pies and running a very busy business, Trent and Nicole are embarking on a new venture. For the past few months they have been renovating the take-away business ‘Johnos Snack Bar’ and will re-open it next week as the name ‘The Retro’ take-away.
Mayor John Horton will be cutting the ribbon to open their new business. They will be serving Fresh Fish and chips, burgers, and all that a take-away should offer!
