Last week Murrumburrah High School 2015 captains, Winona Gray-Levett, Taylah Phillis and Zac Pirie attended the Young Leaders Conference in Melbourne.

The students were inspired by speakers such as Jessica Watson, youngest person to sail solo around the world, and Jane Gallagher, a blind paralympian and the first Australian to win medals in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. Both spoke of overcoming adversity to succeed.

Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson also impressed the students with his honest and frank presentation about failure, and why it is not something to be afraid of.

Following the Conference the students visited the Leadership Expo and experienced some of the sights of Melbourne as well as a political demonstration at Parliament House.
