Could Harden have it’s own mixed species abattoir?
Discussions have taken place about the possibility of opening such an abattoir in Harden.
Mayor John Horton, General Manager Max Kershaw and Jim Wright from the Kruger Trust were invited by Karen Kemp to meet with a consultant to discuss the potential of building a mix species abattoir in Harden.
After a lengthy meeting it was decided to obtain a quote from the consultant regarding the costing of a scoping study and pending a satisfactory outcome, look a conducting a feasibility study to opening such an abattoir.
Mayor Horton said that the consultant indicated he was representing possible investors for the project.
