The Harden Red Devils will know a lot more about their men’s side and their chances of success in 2023 after trialling against Young on Friday night.

The Yabbies are the reigning South West Cup premiers, while the Red Devils finished third in 2022, and incoming coach Jack Alcorn is keen to see what his side can do against the might of Young.

“Everything is going well, and we have a training session tomorrow night before we play a game on Friday night in Young against Young,” Alcorn said.

“They won the premiership, and they are the reigning premiers, and from everything I’ve heard, they pretty well have the same team from last year.

“I would imagine that they are looking to be one of the dominant teams again this year, and if we can challenge them, it will show us and other teams what we are capable of later on in the season.”

Alcorn said numbers have been good at training, and with the upcoming trial against Young leading into the season kick-off on April 15, he is expecting close to a full complement as the Red Devils fine-tune things.
