After a hard-fought year, the fruits of the She-Devils labour are finally culminating in a Grand Final against the Young Yabbettes this Saturday.

Led by coaches Harry Sachs and Simon Glover and trainer Roger Douglass, the She-Devils have turned a one-win season last year to a one-loss season this year.

Now they face the behemoth of a challenge in taking on Young in the Grand Final.

Harry Sachs reflects on how far the She-Devils have come compared to when he was assistant coach last year.

“They are hungry for it and they wanted to learn a bit of rugby over the past two or three years and it’s all starting to click now,” he said.

“The team has improved in leaps and bounds each week. They keep getting better and better.

“It’s only been a couple of years since they’ve started playing together and now they connect with each other and it works quite well. It’s good to watch.”

Harden has had quite the season this year winning seven of the eight games they played with the single loss coming against the Temora Tuskers in round 2.

The Devils have a points difference of 222 compared to Young’s 175 with

them both having six bonus points put- ting the She-Devils on top of the ladder.

Harden already have a two-win advantage over Young but anything is possible come finals.

“The Yabbies are pretty solid, we’ve probably just got a little bit more fitness for one and a bit more strength around the rucks.

“Young’s probably got two or three re- ally good players they rely on whereas our girls have stepped up this year and instead of relying on that one person or two people, everybody’s doing a little.”

Come down to support the She-Devils this week in their moment in the spotlight against Young at the Cootamundra Rugby Club starting at 2pm.
