Jugiong resident and police officer Wes Leseberg will take on a starring role as Sergeant Parry in the up coming film “The Legend of Ben Hall” to be made by Melbourne producer/director Matthew Holmes.

The 50 minute film will make use of the Gold Trails Reenactment Group. Wes said the group is to be involved in the Grenfell GoldFest in September and the Irish WoolFest in Boorowa on the October long weekend. They will also be involved in the Sergeant Parry Memorial on the 15th November in Jugiong.

Wes said it is his first time in a movie and he is looking forward to the experience.

The film will premiere in Forbes to coincide with Sgt. Parry’s death 150 years ago when he was shot by bushranger Johnny Gilbert 5kms from Jugiong towards Gundagai.

Matthew Holmes will be filming around the Jugiong area from the 6th to the 8th of September.

The last film to be made about these bushrangers was back in Wes as Sergeant Parry during the Gold Trail re-enactments the 1960’s.
