Murrumburrah-Harden Rotary were last week busy creating and building their sensory wall and walk, along with help from Bunyip Preschool.
The sensory wall features different objects to touch, feel and explore, stimulating all of a human’s natural sensory emotions, both designed for young and old to interact with.
The sensory wall features tree bark, a silicone tray, synthetic grass, sponge, hairbrush, marbles, belt buckle, castor wheels, metal chains and corrugated iron, just to name a few. De Farrell and Gary Webb worked exceptionally hard on turning the sensory garden into an incredibly special and unique place.
They also finalised the sensory walk last week, which includes pebbles, tanbark, rubber, sand, and grass, amongst a host of other materials.
The Billabong children from Bunyip Preschool also attended the Community Garden last Wednesday to help prepare the garden beds with soil and to plant roses.
All of the children commented how they especially enjoyed interacting with the sensory wall.
The Murrumburrah-Harden Community Garden held a working bee on Sunday, 15th May, between 11am and 2pm to continue the great efforts of finishing the garden beds.
Worked has been continuous at the Community Garden in recent weeks, with volunteers also installing surrounding fence skins featuring natural graphics to protect the garden and make it look pretty.
