David Patterson provided comfort and solace to so many families across generations in their hour of need. He and his family business, Patterson Brothers Funerals assisted local families when they have needed them most. David passed away last Monday. He had been battling illness for a long time. The current Covid situation and the restrictions in place will not allow for a large funeral. However, there is a chance for those whose lives David touched, to say goodbye………

“Many people have expressed to us their disappointment at not being able to pay their respects to our Dad, by attending his funeral service on Wednesday, due to the current COVID restrictions.

We ask that everyone please respect the current limitations, just as many of David’s family (including his 18 grandchildren) will be.

The funeral will be live streamed from both St Mary’s Church, then at the graveside. You can view the live stream by clicking on the link under the funeral announcement on the Patterson Brother’s website:

Some of our friends and family will be forming a guard of honour for Dad, by parking on both sides of Campbell Street, whilst remaining in their vehicles, not interacting with people from other households, in line with current restrictions. Please feel free to join them in this guard of honour, as the cortege travels up Campbell Street from St Mary’s Catholic Church.

We plan to have a memorial service to celebrate Dad’s life at a later date, when restrictions are eased.”
