An incident occurred in Coota last night involving a man who was allegedly threatening self harm.
Just after 9:00pm on Thursday, Police attended a residence on Yass Road after reports were made to them.
It is alleged that at the location the man armed himself with a number of knives.
Police disengaged and commenced negotiations with the man.
It is also alleged the man then produced a firearm at which stage specialist police were called in.
A Police spokesman said, “Just after 5:30 am this morning the man was arrested outside the premises by tactical Police.
He has been taken to Wagga Base Hospital for a mental health assessment.”
It is anticipated that the man will be charged with a number of offences once released.
