The South West Oils Plus Grand Final between Coota and Harden set down for this Saturday at Country Club Oval has been postponed for a week.

The Times spoke to Matt Tink at Central West Rugby who stated that some clubs may be disadvantaged due to the recent Covid-19 outbreaks and  that more resources may be needed to host the Grand Final.

Central West provided a statement.

Good Afternoon,
The CWRU Board has met and decided to suspend the Oilsplus Fuel and Oils South West Cup and Westfund Health Insurance South West Cup Grand Finals that were due to be played in Cootamundra tomorrow. Unfortunately some players have been in the A.C.T since the 5th August and NSW Health orders dictate they must isolate. Furthermore, an event this size may have attracted spectators who had been in Canberra and as a Zone and a Code we have a responsibility to keep our Communities safe.
All Clubs have been consulted and whilst disappointed, understand this position.
We have rescheduled these Grand Finals to Saturday 21st August, 2021.
Please keep safe.

More to come.
