Harden’s James Price fires a pass off.

The Harden Red Devils will face the Boorowa Goldies this Saturday after a 1 point loss to the Coota Tri Colours, at Robert’s Park last Saturday.

The Devils were at one point in the match in front 20-7, however, ended up on the wrong end of the scoreline as Coota clawed their way back into the match, dominating the second part of the second half of the game.

The winner of the match, Coota, secured a home Grand Final at Country Club Oval and a week off to recover from the battle, while the loser of the match, Harden, plays on to secure their spot in the Grand Final with the knockout clash against Boorowa this Saturday at Harden.

Boorowa is coming off a big offensive win, scoring 45 points against the Young Yabbies in their semi final last week, however, they leaked 29 points defensively to the larger town and this may have Boorowa worried.

Tim Corcoran scored a double in the six try effort while Bradley Rose had the kicking boots on and didn’t miss a conversion plotting 6 from 6 as well as a penalty goal.

Harden Coach Jack O’Connor said, “Boorowa could arguably be our toughest game of the year. Saturday didn’t go the way we planned.

I certainly thought the first half was one of the better first halves in terms of a team effort.

Discipline was against us in the second half.

We let them back in and they marched us down the field.

Boorowa have the best set piece in the comp and they have some big fast outside backs.

I was happy with our defence, we need to muscle up in defence against Boorowa like we did against Coota.

The side with the most patience will probably come away with the chocolates.”

Although the sun was out on Saturday, it was wet under foot and it was an emotionally charged game with both sides watching on as players were sent for a rest on the sideline.

Coota lost a Prop and a Number 8 while Harden lost a Prop after some scuffles on the field close to the Harden bench went south.
