The Harden Red Devils will open their season with a trip to the west to take on the West Wyalong Weevils at Perseverance Oval at 3:15pm this Saturday. The squad has been training since late January and took part in the Boorowa Goldies Gala Day last month where they put in a series of very good performances across the day.

The Club has appointed Charlie Brown as Vice captain and Jack Alcorn as Captain of the side which as always, is a mixture of youth and experience. Coach Jack O’Connor has been pleased with the Devil’s preparation and is looking forward to tackling the Wyalong side who are more often than not very strong when playing at home.

The Devils will play their first match away before returning to Robert’s Park to face the Boorowa Goldies the following weekend. Round 3 Harden will welcome Condobolin before taking on Coota at Country Club Oval on the day the Tri Colours will open their new facility and host Wallaby Legend Phil Kearns. The Devils will be looking to defend their Oilsplus South West Slopes title in 2021 after a shortened season due to Covid-19 in 2020.

Harden has been highly competitive over the last few seasons since the club was resurrected. They claimed the 2018 Premiership before going down to the Coota Tri Colours in 2019. They bounced back in 2020 defeating the Young Yabbies at Robert’s Park.

2021 looks to be another good year for the club who have retained a large number of last year’s squad as well as some new faces such as Eric Douglass whose build makes him a natural Second Rower which will boost the engine room stocks
